Ladies and gentlemen, the long-awaited sequel to the 1993 cult classic “Hocus Pocus” is finally happening! That’s right, after almost three decades of waiting, Disney has officially announced that “Hocus Pocus 2” is in production and will soon be casting its spell on audiences once again.
As someone who grew up watching the original film and still quotes lines from it to this day, I couldn’t be more excited about this news. And if you’re anything like me, you’re probably dying to know everything there is to know about this upcoming movie. So let’s dive into what we know so far.
First things first: who’s in it? Well, as of now, we don’t have any official casting announcements. But we do know that the original Sanderson sisters – played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy – are all interested in returning for the sequel. In fact, Midler even tweeted about it back in 2019, saying “they want to make a movie. It’s just been hard to get the girls together.” It seems like they’ve finally managed to make it happen though!
As for the storyline of “Hocus Pocus 2,” details are scarce at the moment. We do know that it will be a sequel rather than a reboot or remake (thank goodness), and that it will air exclusively on Disney+.
